Random notes and Madi facts

Miss Madi is back to 100%. She is keeping us busy walking and trying to run all over the place. She is growing and learning more each day and more than Chad and I even realized. She knows where her room is and if you tell her we are going to her room she walks right down the hallway - she occasionally gets side tracked by a cat toy or the vent in the hallway. We ask her tons of questions and she responds in one way or another:

Madi are you hungry - if she is she walks over to her highchair and lifts her arms.

Madi do you want to go outside - she walks over to the door and tries to reach for the doorknob.

Madi we need to put your shoes on - one shoe at a time she brings them over to you, sometimes she'll bring my shoes instead of hers, but hey she knows what shoes are.

Madi go sit in your chair - she walks over to her little chair and sits right down.

Madi finally likes being read to again. She went through a phase were she didn't want you to read to her, but in the last week or so she has started bring Chad and I books to read. She really loves One Fish Two Fish by Dr. Suess.

Madi loves water bottles. I usually have a water bottle with me at all times and she will come over and open her mouth. I give her a little water at a time and she just loves it.

Her vocabulary isn't the best. We still say Da a lot and Momma usually comes out when she's whiny, but it amazes me how quickly she picks up on things. She is babbling more and more, especially in the car.

She is already following in her Daddy's footsteps with golf. She was given a Snoopy Golf Set for Christmas from her Poppy (another golf fanatic) and she carries those clubs all over the house. She even tries to hit the balls with the clubs, so Chad says she's the next Tiger Woods. Every now and then we see her chasing after the cats with the clubs, but so far no injuries from either side.

We are going to start swimming lessons in October. We were going to start in August, but they got pushed back. We were lucky enough (thanks Grandma) to get some passes to the YMCA to try out the pool and see if we like it. We attempted to go on Sunday with Jill and Mari, but the weather (thunderstorms) prevented that from happening. So, we will just try again another time.

Madi is moving to a new day care in September. I have always wanted her in a smaller home setting and one just fell into our laps. I was talking to a client a few months ago and he mentioned his wife had a day care in there home. He told me they were full at the time, but I told him to remember us if they ever had an opening. We'll they do, so we went and met with Miss Sharon last week and loved her. She only keeps 5 children and she has a little boy who is exactly Madi's age. I think the small setting will help with her development and I am really hoping it cuts down on the illness. We told her current day care this week about leaving and when I went to pick her up yesterday several of the teachers were crying. Madi has really taken to a teacher named Amanda. Amanda has made it so easy for me to leave Madi with them. So, hopefully Madi will adjust to the new day care, but again she doesn't start until after Labor Day.

I don't have any new pictures because the only pictures I get of Miss Madi these days are of her backside. Every time I try to take a picture by the time the picture snaps she has turned around. I really need a camera that takes faster pictures, but I will keep trying to get some new ones.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of there summer. It's all going by so fast!

Isn't it amazing the things they understand? I think we have some little smarty-pants on our hands! Golf...ugh! Why? I'll still love her if she grows up to be a golfer. Remind me to buy her some plaid pants for Christmas!

Pink and purple plaid. That would be so cute! Besides, she looks just like Chad, so she has to play golf.

Good luck with the new day care. It is such a toss up. So much depends on the teacher. Gary's aunt is an inhome day care provider and she has second generation kids, now, whose parents consider her thier kids' grandmother. Hopefully, this will work out to that type situation.

That's so awesome! She's growing up way too fast!!! She's still supposed to be a baby! Good luck with the new daycare, it sounds great! Brendan has survived 2 weeks of preschool/daycare and actually really seems to love it, so it is a relief to me!! Have a great weekend!
