We left Friday night after work and headed to KY to visit Chad's family. We got in about 12:30 and Madi couldn't have been better in the car. Chad and I have found that its best to leave at night, so she can sleep most of the trip. She has gotten to the point that she doesn't really like to be restrained in the car seat for long periods of time, but hey who can blame her. Anyway, Madi finally got to meet her Great Grandparents and several other members of the family. We had a cookout Friday night at Chad's cousin Juli's house and had a great time. Sunday night we went to his Uncle Greg and Aunt Mary's house for a bbq. In between the family time I headed to Lexington to meet up with my friend Elizabeth and meet her daughter Whitney. Whitney is a few months older than Madi and just an adorable little girl. It was nice to see Elizabeth and her family again. I hadn't seen her since my wedding in 2005. Sunday we headed back into Lexington to do some shopping. I of course had to stock up on my KY gear. I bought a t-shirt and sweatshirt for me and then a few things for Madi. You can never have enough KY Wildcat clothes.
We made it back to VA on Monday evening. That trip also went well. Madi slept 4 out of the 6 hours and still managed to sleep all night, which was good because Chad and I were definitely sleep deprived by that point. Now we are getting ready for Madi's big birthday party this weekend. My Dad and sister Nikki are coming in from NY and Ohio, but the big party is Sunday afternoon. I can't believe how fast one year has gone by.
So, now I'll just leave you will a few pictures from the weekend…
